The Three Disciplines

Laura Plageman

Laura Plageman is a Landscape photographer. Laura was asked to provide images in the following three disciplines: Fashion, Documentary and Food.

"Nature is an endlessly complex and fascinating subject. I make pictures to examine the natural world as alive and constantly changing, transformed both by human presence and by its own design. I'm drawn to accessible and frequently viewed perspectives, places where people encounter nature as an everyday or shared experience.

My art practice involves both photographing the world around me and responding to images in the studio, with an interest in exploring the materiality of photography and the complexities of representation. Finished works are often records of cumulative visual experiences captured at different moments in time and in different locations, encapsulating the flux, dynamism and transformation present in the physical world."
